What is the signature date and how does it affect my Agreement?

Updated on

You can set a signature date on your Agreements that will populate the "Due on Signature" payment milestones when invoices are created, and also set the beginning transaction date for Accounting Transactions.

You can enter the signature date during Agreement entry on Step 1. Description, or any time before or after the Agreement has been published.  Setting the signature date after an Agreement is published will only affect a "Due on Signature" invoice if it has not already been created.

If you enter a signature date, all accounting transactions prior to that date will be set to the signature date and show as the signature date on accounting transactions.

On the Description page of Agreement entry, there is a field to enter the date an Agreement was signed.

If this date is left blank, invoices that are "Due on Signature" in the guarantee setup, will be populated as such.

To enter a signature date, go to the Agreement details page and select "edit"

Enter the signature date and click "Save"

The "Due on Signature" invoice to be created now shows the due date as the signature date

If you perform accounting functions before a signature date, or add or change the signature date after you perform the the accounting function, downloaded accounting transactions will show the new signature date.,

Signature date was changed to January 01, 2021

The transaction date for accounting entry shows the new signature date
